Age Groups

We believe that children learn most naturally from their peers at all ages, and so integration is a primary goal here at Head and Heart Childcare

Infants

Unfortunately, we are not accepting anymore infants into our care or waiting list at this time.

Toddlers

Ages 12-24 months

At this age, children are encouraged to explore and engage their world through play and observation. All the senses will be involved to help teach communication skills. Language reinforcements and songs are used to encourage speech.

Preschool

Ages 2-3 year-olds

Each day these little ones will be engaged in a small period of focused learning. Throughout their times of play what they have learned will be reinforced through games, books, songs and conversations.

Pre-K

Ages 4-5 year-olds

At the head of the group, children at these ages will be given "leader" roles in group activities and songs, and will have a separate time of learning in the morning of each day. They will be directly engaged in group activities and encouraged to learn new age appropriate skills of all kinds.

Our Approach

Here at Head and Heart Childcare, we believe that children develop best in environments where they experience connection. Due to this, we seek to connect with each child individually, going beyond simply meeting their basic needs and keeping them safe. We do this through vocalizing feelings at all ages, teaching and modeling mindfulness, and loving each child right where they are at. Compassion, Kindness, Understanding and Gentleness characterize all of our interactions.

Education!

Once that connection is made, then we guide the children along a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Through repetition, various modalities, interactive activities, and one on one attention, our preschool program will prepare your child for the future while letting them learn in a way that is natural for them.

Peace of mind

You want to know your child is in good hands. Throughout the day, we post updates and pictures on a specially designed app that lets you see what your child is doing and learning and eating. You are able to communicate directly with our staff who are highly trained and educated. We want you to know your child is in good hands.

Help is here

More and more kids are neurodivergent and we spend a considerable amount of time and effort to train our staff and design our program so that every child is successful. As parents of autistic kids, we wanted to create a place where other neurodivergent kids thrive.

What Parents Think

"Watching Mikaela parent her three kids gives me full confidence I could trust her with my baby. I love that she takes time to fully engage with each kids' needs. She also continues to educate herself to learn how to better parent and care for others' little ones."
